Gas Cylinder Technician

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Gas Cylinder Tester. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of various gas cylinders through rigorous testing and inspection processes. This is a critical position requiring a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Cylinder Inspection & Testing:
  Conduct thorough inspections and perform hydrostatic and proof testing on cylinders, including LPG, CNG, and SCUBA, to verify structural integrity and compliance with safety standards.
• Documentation & Reporting:
  Maintain accurate records of test results, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Equipment Calibration & Maintenance:
  Calibrate and maintain testing equipment such as pressure gauges, volumetric moisture testers, and conductometers to ensure accurate measurements.
• Safety Compliance:
  Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work. Participate in regular safety training and drills.
• Customer Interaction:
  Provide professional service to clients, offering advice on cylinder maintenance and safety practices.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in a manual handling role is advantageous. Familiarity with gas cylinder testing procedures is a plus.
• Basic understanding of pressure testing equipment and safety protocols.
• Ability to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects safely.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain clear and concise records.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to undergo training to become a certified cylinder tester under WorkSafe New Zealand guidelines.

Hours and Days:

Mon to Fri, 7.30am to 5pm

Pay:

Starting at $28/hr
